Specialty

Diabetes mellitus type 1 and type II

Treating patients with type I, type II and other types of diabetes mellitus.  This includes education and dietary advice.  It also includes treatment with oral and injectable medications.  We also offer insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring system services.  The clinic offers complete and comprehensive diabetes care.

Hypothyroidism

Treating patients with underactive thyroid. We offer complete and in-depth thyroid evaluation and treatment including multiple thyroid hormone treatment options. We believe hypothyroidism is a complex disease that has major life and health implications. We believe in treating patients not numbers. We screen patients for Hashimoto’s disease and offer appropriate interventions.

Hyperthyroidism

Treating patients with overactive thyroid. We work closely with other specialties including cardiology and surgery to normalize thyroid function and normalize metabolism. We look at the root cause of different mechanisms for hyperthyroidism and offer multiple treatment strategies. We screen patients for Graves’ disease and other causes of hyperthyroidism.

Thyroid nodule

Recent studies have shown that thyroid nodules are common in the general population. Most nodules are benign, but some nodules are secondary to thyroid cancer. We offer ultrasound of the thyroid. We also offer fine-needle aspiration and biopsy of suspicious nodules as indicated by medical guidelines. Ultrasound studies and fine-needle aspiration biopsies are done in clinic. We also offer genetic testing on thyroid nodule biopsy specimens. We provide medical options and we work with surgical teams for patients pursuing a surgical option.

Thyroid cancer

We offer comprehensive thyroid cancer care. We work with surgeons, oncologists and radiation oncologists to provide standard of care treatment to our patients with thyroid cancer. We take care of our patients before and after surgical intervention. We also arrange radioactive iodine ablation and scanning options if needed. We follow patients postoperatively with head and neck ultrasound and lymph node mapping.

Adrenal disease

Adrenal conditions are frequently under diagnosed. We treat patients with adrenal disease. This includes caring for patients with different forms of adrenal insufficiency, Addison’s disease and Cushing disease. We perform dynamic testing to diagnose adrenal insufficiency and Cushing disease and offer multiple treatment options. We also work with surgical teams if necessary.

Pituitary disease

We care for multiple pituitary disorders. These include prolactin, growth hormone disorders and other pituitary hormonal imbalances. The pituitary gland is a complex gland with multiple often interacting hormonal pathways. We treat patients with elevated serum prolactin level, pituitary insufficiency and pituitary tumors.

Gender dysphoria

We offer hormonal treatment to our transgender patients and patients with gender dysphoria. We work closely with our colleagues in urology to evaluate and manage hormonal treatment in patients with gender dysphoria.

Hypogonadism

We offer in-depth evaluation of men with low testosterone and females with abnormal hormonal levels. We investigate the root cause of these hormonal imbalances and offer multiple and diverse treatment options.

Osteoporosis

We treat patients with mild, moderate and severe osteoporosis. We investigate potential secondary causes of osteoporosis and discuss multiple treatment options. We also discuss lifestyle interventions to minimize bone loss and increase bone density. These include pharmacological and nonpharmacological strategies.

Obesity

We offer a complete, detailed and comprehensive approach to patients with weight gain. We try to identify potential hormonal and metabolic causes of weight gain and treat those accordingly. We also offer pharmacologic intervention, both short and long-term when dietary and lifestyle interventions fail to achieve the patient’s weight goal. We also see patients in preparation for bariatric surgery as well as after surgery.

Polycystic ovarian syndrome

This is a complex disorder that requires coordination between endocrinology and gynecology. We offer comprehensive evaluation of hormonal imbalances and offer multiple therapeutic options for patients with PCOS.
